Access Doors
Every building requires access panels to reach valves inside of walls. Access doors can also be used to enter enclosed areas. Common sizes for access panels are 12 x 12 and can be made up to 48″ in length. Along with access doors, these companies also manufacture floor doors, roof hatches, and fire extinguisher cabinets.
Access doors are used to provide entry to areas that are otherwise difficult or impossible to reach, such as mechanical or electrical equipment, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Access doors are typically installed in walls, ceilings, or floors and are designed to provide easy and safe access to the equipment or systems behind them.
Some of the common applications of access doors include:
- Mechanical equipment access: Access doors are commonly used to provide access to mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, and boilers for maintenance and repair.
- Electrical equipment access: Access doors are used to provide access to electrical panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment for maintenance and inspection.
- Plumbing access: Access doors are installed in walls and ceilings to provide access to plumbing systems for repairs, maintenance, and inspection.
- HVAC system access: Access doors are installed in ductwork and HVAC equipment to provide access for cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
- Security access: Access doors can be used to provide secure access to areas such as safe rooms, vaults, and data centers.
Access doors come in a variety of sizes, materials, and configurations, depending on the application and the level of security required. Some access doors are designed to be fire-rated, weather-resistant, or soundproof, while others are intended for use in high-security areas and require specialized locking mechanisms.
